How to create a company tariff (freight rates)

Modified on Tue, 15 Oct at 3:07 PM

The company tariff is created in the same way as a client rate however, these rates would normally be the ‘list’ price.

These standard rates can then be easily applied to clients that do not have their own negotiated rates.

The company tariff can have more than one rate reference, allowing you to apply different rates to the next time period just like we do with client rates.

You can also apply the company rate to a client and then adjust the rates by a percentage value to create a customised rate.

To create a company tariff use the following steps:

1. From the Sale tab , click on Company Tariffs.

2. The Company Rates Reference screen is displayed.

you will need to set up the parameters of the company rates as : mod of transportation, rate description, start date , expiry date and sales rep and prepare by codes.

3. The rest of the process to create a company tariff is very similar to creating a Quotation or a Client Rate.

Next, you add the freight route and the charges. Just like with Client Rates and Quotations, only the aqua fields are mandatory. The other fields are optional depending on how specific you need the freight route to be.

As these rates will be applied to many customers, the shipper and consignee fields should be left blank.

4. Next you need to add the charge lines for the freight route.

Add or double click in the field, to search for the Charge Code and select the method for how the charge will be applied and enter the value of the charge. The method selected will determine which other fields appear on screen.

5. Once you finish to add the charges for this rate, click on the green tick button to save.

6. Once you have completed the Freight charges, click on the Origin and Destination tabs to complete the origin and destination charges.

Then add the next freight route to the rates reference and repeat the process.
